ABEPOG is committed to positively influencing the business and social culture of members of the black community of Ottawa – Gatineau. Our mission is to serve as a source of information for the development of black-owned businesses, to educate and improve the economic status of the black community while creating a favorable climate for intellectual exchange in the world of business, goods and services. To achieve this, we plan to:
1) Help over 100 Black-owned businesses and professionals in Ottawa-Gatineau
achieve profitable status by the end of 2024;
2) Fund the employment of more than 100 black students in the Ottawa-Gatineau
business and trades sector by the end of 2024;
3) See black-owned businesses in Ottawa-Gatineau collectively retain a net income
of around $ 1 million by the end of 2024.
ABEPOG intends to support our communities by promoting economic and
commercial development through a strong commitment to the common good and the
advancement of the community. Asset management is the key to our strategy and our culture. Excellence in service, higher risk, quality, confidence, speed, ideas, efficiency, among others, is the reputation capital that we want to leave behind. It is in a way the legacy that we wish to leave in the spirit of our community.
ABEPOG’s vision is to increase the black presence in business and in various
industries, including high tech, academia, manufacturing, and culture. We want to use
our people, talents, proprietary knowledge, brand, leadership, integrity, and
relationships to increase our competitive advantage as a leverage effect to create
economic growth and some regional and national visibility of the Black community of Ottawa-Gatineau.
We place a very high priority on young people and put them at the forefront of our
activities. We fully support them and help them define their approach to achieve meaningful change. We champion their leadership in all key sectors of society, as evidenced by actively seeking their contribution to our decision-making process.
